During weekdays, Take care to not arrived too late, the restaurant wouldn't serve any food.
Great selection of beers
The good - Nice decor, good vibe, decent pizza. Majority of the staff polite. The not so good - manager very rude, could do with some gratitude training/bigger picture seeing. Speaking to paying customers who are. Paying slightly over the odds for beer in the way he did no matter the circumstance was a bit unprofessional. Over all, certainly has potential to be a great little stop before of after any train journey
Good for a fast bite before catching the train
Good for a catch-up chat, music not too loud, tables which give you slightly more privacy. Good range of drafts, wines and spirits. Slightly more pricy than wetherspoon but the atmosphere and place to sit more than make up for it.
First time since refurb, very impressed
Can't run a tab so very difficult to go for working lunch
Nice pub close to the train station
Not bad good location for temple meads station
Good atmosphere, great beer and friendly staff
Nice beer, typical railway pub. Handy for a quick pint though not a destination place.
Decent, good beer not outrageous prices, solid choice to grab a beer after a long train journey
Order the pizza. Trust me you'll be glad you did.
It smelled like they really need to clean their fryers
Good pub. Lacking in character but service is good, prices fair and the food look pretty good.
Friendly staff good selection of beers too! Go for the nduja pizza with a pint, you'll never go wrong. Perfect time waster before a train journey.
Nice place for a beer
Super cozy and easily accessible with a great choice of drinks. A bit more on the pricey side but a fun experience.
I used to go here a lot before catching a train at Temple Meads, when it was the Reckless Engineer. I've just been there for the first time since it changed. On the whole, you pay a lot more for the same experience, although the clientele used to be a lot more friendly. It's a real shame they changed the name. It will still always be the Reckless Engineer to me.
Surprisingly nice pub. I had always dismissed it as a boring chain pub. But that is not true. Really good selection of beer and lovely pizzas as well. The staff were friendly and the place itself was comfortable and a nice atmosphere.
Good, modern feel pub/bar and the comfy booths by the window
Nice pub and good location close to the train station.
Good italian food.
As is so often the case with pubs next door to railway stations this turned out to be really nice. Well located (obvs), great beer and passable food.
Food was excellent and good value. Service was good.
Reasonably priced and a good location and atmosphere
Always my pit stop when my train delayed. Exactly what it says on the tin, close enough to station to smash a couple without missing ur train
A great little pub... menu is limited, they have pizza, jacket potatoes, baguettes and some desserts. So far everything I've had has been delicious. My favourite is the Cinnamon waffle with chocolate sauce and vanilla icecream. My regular spot.
More inviting than it looks from the outside! Worth a visit!
Had the works pizza and meaty fries OMG amazing staff really nice food un believable Ale superb and very well priced
Very disappointed. I remember this as the reckless engineer when it was a rock pub with live music. Couldn't believe it when I walked in today and it was all done up with background music if people covering carols. Very sedate and drinks quite expensive compared to rest of Bristol. I guess it depends on what your looking for, but I was very disappointed q
Small but great pub
Good selection of beers
Great food. Friendly staff. Great choices
Nice staff, good music
Very good the staff are very attentive and helpful
Decent - nothing wrong nor nothing great. Stops hot drinks during the later evening though.
Great pizza, friendly staff.
Much better than a normal station pub with good beers that seem to be kept well. Friendly staff and those elusive Branston pickle mini-chedders
Can't really fault it, just not my sort if pub. Suppose it's a nice change if you're looking for something a little more premium than 'Spoons when waiting for a train.
Take a break - a perfect place
Lovely bar. Nice beer, great pizza, great staff
But pricey for what it is. Nice decor and nice staff. £5 card payment limit is stupid in this day and age.
Quiet for a pub on a Saturday nice but friendly staff and good beer
Basically a stopping point before train journey
Good beers, pizza was decent, nice base, though toppings were a bit lacking on the one I had, my mates looked better.
Great pizza and atmosphere. Reasonably priced.
Fantastic beer great pizzas.
Decent bar and it sells beavertown on tap. What's not to like?
Very fast service in a very nice ambience. Great whilst waiting for our train
